Spice Route Stories After School Session

Explore the hidden history of spices at Sefton Park Palm House through a drama performance, botanical Christmas crafts, and planting!

Discover how spices travelled the world and seeded hundreds of stories – including the forgotten story of Liverpool’s links with ginger.

This free after-school session is aimed at children aged 7-9, but children of other ages are welcome. Booking is essential: please book one place per participating child. Children must be accompanied by an adult (there is no need for accompanying adults to book). Arrive by 3:45pm for the best experience.

All materials provided.

This after-school session is part of the Being Human Festival-funded ‘Spice Route Stories’ activity day, organised by Liverpool John Moores University in collaboration with Sefton Park Palm House. Families with younger children can drop in any time 9.30am to 5pm to visit the story and colouring corner. Expect plenty of bustle from scheduled school sessions! Visitors of all ages will enjoy our linked poster exhibition.
