Emerging from London’s creative underground, Y is a genre-defying band formed in 2023 by Adam Brennan and Sophie Coppin, whose contrasting styles forged a sound jokingly dubbed “wonk rock,” “Gameboy thrash,” and even “Egyptian wedding music.” Their lineup amplifies this eclecticism: Sophie’s instinctive hooks, Adam’s experimental guitar harmonies, Dan GB’s hardcore-meets-Italo-disco pulse, Fells’ dynamic percussion, and Harry McHale’s lead-voice sax.

The Windmill quickly became their home stage, where their live favourite Why evolved into an explosive “audio party.” In November 2024, Y signed with SO Recordings & Hideous Mink Records, with their debut EP arriving April 2025 and a run of exhilarating shows building their reputation as one of the scene’s most exciting new acts.
