Tony Kinsey Jazz Celebration: Way Out West Big Band

Tony Kinsey played drums with Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Oscar Peterson and Sarah Vaughan, as well as the leading figures of British Modern Jazz. He was a founder member of the Dankworth Seven and one of the most innovative musicians of his generation. He was also a band leader, songwriter and prolific composer of big band music. Tony was an original member of the Way Out West jazz collective. The big band for this concert features star soloists Kate Williams, Martin Shaw, Mark Nightingale, Tim Whitehead, Pete Hurt and vocalist Nette Robinson playing The Embroidery Suite, plus a selection of his other compositions.
