The Food Of Love

This uplifting and highly entertaining show is the creation of Nigel Hess, the pianist/ composer behind Ladies in Lavender and A Christmas Overture, and also for several years, house composer to the Royal Shakespeare Company and Shakespeare’s Globe.

His witty and delightful songs for them are presented here with glorious music from stage and screen celebrating the Bard, including Craig Armstrong’s gorgeous Balcony Scene for the 1996 film of Romeo & Juliet, Stephen Warbeck’s incidental music for Shakespeare in Love, and immortal compositions by William Walton, Michael Kamen and Cole Porter.

Plus stories behind the music, scandalous backstage anecdotes, and sublime settings of Shakespeare’s most poignant poetry.
