Ronald Langestraat + Martha Rose + Spooky J

Ronald Langestraat

In the early 1980s, Ronald Langestraat was one of the mainstays of the Amsterdam jazz scene; he played in jazz bands like Cascada and Ritmo Natural. At that time, he also started to search for his own sound - a spacy mix of jazz, soul and groovy salsa. Ronald went on a space mission, resulting in a psychedelic, otherworldly, pristine and personal sound. Fast forward to 2022 and Langestraat’s peculiar cosmic pop has never sounded more relevant.

This summer saw The Mauskovic Dance Band’s Nic Mauskovic introduced the wonderful world of Nicolini with ‘Penni’s Palace’, released by Amsterdam label South of North. Picture this; funky zebra-chairs, colorful television screens and, of course, at the very center, a Casio keyboard filling the air with dub drenched jams.

Martha Rose

Martha Rose is an English musician living in Berlin. Her new album “Close to Close” was produced with and mixed by ET (Discovery Zone, John Moods) in Neukölln. The album uses sampled voices, water, flutes, and breathy synth sounds alongside drum machines and a collection of vintage Yamaha keyboards to create a minimal and intimate space.

Spooky-J

Spooky-J is the architect behind Nihiloxica’s rhythmic force, dives deep into the realms of solo drumming and effects processing for his performances. With roots in Amsterdam's vibrant improv scene, he evolved his sound by merging live effects manipulation and drum triggers to craft intense dance soundscapes.
