A Century of the Scottish Colourists with Alice Strang

2025 marks a century since the four artists, FC Cadell, JD Fergusson, SJ Peploe, and GL Hunter, known as the Sottish Colourists exhibited together as a quartet for the first time in London. Alice Strang, Curator of the National Galleries of Scotland’s Scottish Colourist series of exhibitions, will discuss the ebb and flow of their individual and group reputations in the intervening years, not least in light of their positioning within British art history in The Scottish Colourists: Radical Perspectives.
