Our restaurant has been designed for maximum comfort and relaxation. Both spacious and intimate, it offers the finest cuisine, an extensive wine cellar and attentive but not intrusive service from our dedicated team. We offer a full buffet hot breakfast, and some items are cooked to order and include grilled kippers, smoked haddock, scrambled eggs with salmon and porridge. We also offer a continental buffet including a selection of juices, yoghurts, cereals, and muesli, Danish pastries, bread rolls, cheeses, and meats.

The Captain’s Bar is our resident bar at the hotel, named after Captain Thomas Stocks one of our founders. It is a very cosy, rustic and relaxed bar perfect for relaxing in the evening. It is open Friday & Saturday evenings and Sunday Lunchtime. It is the perfect place to relax and have a drink with some friends and another example of the diverse and charming rooms you can enjoy in our heritage hotel. It is also perfect for intimate occasions whether it be a funeral or a birthday party. With panoramic windows across the front of the hotel Captain’s Bar offers lots of natural daylight, so it is perfect for gatherings of up to 40 people.

With it’s own dancefloor area and interconnecting not just with the Alice Maud Room but also the William James Room. This room is the most adaptable room we have in the hotel. Licensed to hold Civil Ceremonies, the hotel can look after your day from start to finish, but if you prefer the more traditional church ceremony we can still take care of the reception for you.
