The Best Western Plus Posada de Don Vasco Hotel was inaugurated in 1939. The construction of its first phase began in 1937, and by the opening in 1939, it already had eight hectares of gardens, 45 rooms (including 2 master suites), two colonial courtyards, a swimming pool, and a casino. In a second phase, in 1960, the Tarasca section was built with 25 rooms and the hotel chapel. In the fourth phase, in the year 2000, the convention center was built with 10 rooms with a capacity for up to 1,000 people, and the jogging track, 400 meters long, on a 15,000 square meter plot. The hotel has four different gardens, with banquet capacity for 1,000 or more people. The location is excellent as it is situated on the main avenue of Pátzcuaro, just 5 minutes from Don Vasco Square and the main pier of the lake, where Janitzio Island is located.
