Since 1949, Drayton Manor has been a great day out for all the family. Starting as a small amusement park with just a handful of rides, today it’s a powerhouse of thrilling rollercoasters, big adventures and exciting animal encounters.

Found in Drayton Bassett, Staffordshire, Drayton Manor is somewhere that never gets boring. The park is divided into seven areas: Thomas Land, Action Park, Aerial Park, Fisherman's Wharf, Pirate Cove, The Zoo and Dinotrail, Farmer McColl's Farm, each with its own range of rides and attractions.

The rides on offer vary from the adrenaline pumping Drop Tower and giant Pandemonium Swing, to the more relaxing experience of the Gerstlauer. There's even a classic ferris wheel and vintage merry-go-round.

There’s been a zoo on the site since the 1950s and today there are over 15 acres filled with fascinating wildlife such as the always loveable meerkats and beautiful Sumatran tigers. If you, or your kids, are Thomas the Tank Engine fans then Drayton Manor is the place to be with an entire Thomas Land devoted to the popular character. You can ride on your favourite trains and blow off some steam in the outdoor play areas. In between all the thrills and spills, you’ll find everything you need to keep hungry kids happy, as well as exhibitions and educational events that can combine a day of fun with a little bit of learning.

Things to do around Drayton Manor

If you’re planning an extended visit to the area there’s plenty to do around Drayton Manor. Several nearby farms give your kids the chance to meet a variety of animals, or, for the more active, there’s an indoor skiing and snowboarding centre for lots of wintry fun. If you’re looking for fresh air and plenty of greenery then there’s Sutton Park National Nature Reserve on your doorstep. The historic Tamworth Castle is well worth a visit, and the National Memorial Arboretum also promises an interesting day out, with beautiful grounds perfect for strolling.
